Seattle Seahawks Quote of the Day

December 22, 2014
Seahawks punter will fight you if you talk crap about Seahawks kicker

If anyone out there wants to talk crap about our kicker who is one of the best in the game u can meet me at the swing set at recess to fight. - Jon Ryan

I love the sarcastic grade school imagery. There's just no good comeback for that. Hahaha!

Steven Hauschka had a bad day. There's no denying that. The first two field goal attempts were long and missed to the right. As a believer in return to the mean theories, I cringed as he lined up for that third long attempt. Would he overcompensate to the left?  Let's just say that, on average, they all went right between the posts. D'oh!

Don't let it get you down Steven. In the grand scheme of things, who among us aren't entitled to one bad day? You carried the team in the past, and Sunday it was the team's chance to carry you. What goes around, comes around.

And carry you they did. It was like every member on the team wasn't going to let you go home knowing that we lost the game by a single failed field goal attempt, much less three. A 29 point spread pretty much assured that. Talk about overkill. Wow!

Go Hauschka! Go Seahawks! :)

Put a one percenter dead of obesity with a family starved to death and take the average.

Ever notice how often erring to the right is reported as worse than erring to the left?

Where are the rational moderates?

I don't need the government to protect me from myself. A truly free person doesn't need permission to drink a big gulp.

I don't need the government to tell me "in God we trust". I'm not a religious person and I don't want my government to assume that I am.

I think the food stamp program is at least as good idea as fighting wars in the Middle East, if not a whole lot better.

But you've got Russell Wilson.

They didn't tell us about him in Europe.

OMFG - the unhumanity.

You guys rock. Not suck. Total rockers.

IIRC Hauschka is the second most accurate kicker in NFL history. Interestingly, the most accurate kicker, Dan Bailey of the Cowboys, was 0/1 on field goals (but a perfect 6/6 on extra points!) yesterday as well. Didn't matter in that game either.

shtove,

Russel Wilson certainly makes the game fun to watch.

Soviet of Washington,

Last year he was 33 for 35. That put him in 2nd place.

This year, he was 29 for 32. It was very respectable to say the least.

And then Sunday came. Now he's 29 for 35. He did as much damage to his stats in 1 day as the previous 14 games combined.

I just hope he's not kicking himself over it. Like I said before, everyone is entitled to one bad day. That would have been true even if we had lost, which we didn't.

He kicked a 58 yard field goal in October (tying the Seahawk record). So hopefully he will be thinking about that instead. :)

Apologies to Russell Wilson for accidentally dropping an "l" from your name!
