The European Bailout Absurdity: Money for Nothing

Once upon a time, the stock market was a place where people with capital went to look for productive activity to invest in – say, a company devoted to making soap flakes, or an underpants factory. Now the market is a robot combat arena where algorithms battle for supremacy of the feedback loops.

I'm probably biased though. I'm a believer in feedback loop theories.

GYSC,

It's like going to the ear, nose, and throat specialist. It's also like having a flexible scope inserted into your nose and feeling it go down into your throat. That's how much fun it is.

I had that done to me today. Still no explanation on why I cough up green pretty much every day, but hey, at least my nasal passages look normal.

Next up... more fun tests! Hurray!

Maybe I should have Bernanke check me out.

Bernanke: Fed's not waiting for Congress on reform

Bernanke also said the bank stress tests, completed nearly one year ago, helped stabilize the financial system and revive the economy.

What few people seem to realize is that the banks never really did cough up green. The taxpayers did. We're clearly testing the wrong thing.

Banks do eat green things though. Broccoli, green beans, lettuce, $100 bills, you name it! Is it any wonder banks appear so healthy now?

Mark,
sorry to hear that man! Coughing up green sounds like Taxpayeroxia, a affliction common to any that pay taxes these days! Kidding.

In all seriousness, I hope you get an answer on that. It has been a little while going on?

I will be sounding a cautious note on the metals in a post up in a bit. Now you know the end of the world is at hand!

Oh my! Right or wrong, it's nice to see at least somebody else think that precious metals are not sure things at any price.

I generally turn chicken early these days. I just don't have the tolerance for risk any longer. Being chicken isn't so bad though, especially over the last decade.
